COVID-19 Flexibility in Child Care Policy and Regulatory Requirements

Asian children are interested in learning while teachers are teaching online via the internet during school hours during the virus outbreak.

With the closure of North Carolina’s public schools, DCDEE knows the demand on the state’s licensed child care facilities is elevated. In order to provide relief and flexibility to child care facilities, DCDEE has been actively working to identify policy and regulatory requirements that can be temporarily waived, while still ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of children.  The Flexibility in Policy and Regulatory Requirements Announcement gives information about the temporary changes in rules.
